Day 51

Smoked Applewood

Lovely smooth lightly smoked cheese, my Dad liked this cheese

Day 50

St James, sheep’s cheese.

Unpasteurised sheep’s milk cheese from Martin Gott, Cark, Cumbria . Creamy cheese with a lovely almost citrusy tang. Quite strong on the nose, and not too keep on the taste of the rind, but the gooey bit in the middle is great.

Day 49

Haloumi

Traditional Cipriot cheese, made from a variety of milks, producing a semi hard cheese with a high melting point.

Day 45

Bowland Lancashire with Apple and raisin

Tasty cheese, raisins and a hint of spice. I am looking forward to trying Bowland Lancashire with no added bits, I think it will be great.

Day 44

Red Hot Dutch

Another great cheese from the Truckle Bros label, this time it is a Gouda with pickled jalapeños and extra dry chilli flakes, making this cheese the hottest I have tried so far.

Day 43

Blacksticks Blue

Tasty, in a mildly blue sort of way. Quite salty, I would suggest white port and grapes with this cheese!

Day42

Cheddar and sweet fire chilli

A bit bland really, but did make a nice topping for the pork chops.

Day 41

Roquefort

Who says you don’t find happiness at the bottom of a glass! This cheese was quite feisty, paired really well with Ardbeg 10 year old. The strong pungent tang of this blue cheese and the deep smoky whisky was a great match.

Day 40

Goats cheese with figs

Last of the cheese brought back from France, and seems I have saved the best till last. This cheese was lovely and creamy with a subtle goats milk flavour, quite sweet, with mashed figs in the middle, best yet this month.
