Prima Donna Maturo

Like this, it is a Gouda from The Netherlands but made with parmigiano culture giving it a sweet taste,.. It is very hard but with a crystalline saltiness. I has it for lunch, tea, and maybe need to try it with some whisky now!

Munster

Smells like a bit of a monster! Infact its is an hour since eating it and I can still smell it! It is a rind washed cows milk cheese from France. Pleasant mild flavour, but it does smell.

Rachel

On first tasting I thought Rachel was a little sheepish, but she turns out to be a goat. Gentle in flavour, fairly hard with a sweet nutty taste. Paired it with an Islay malt, because I really wanted an islay malt! It was too much and Rachel was overwhelmed.

Gorwydd Caerphilly

A different beast to what you might find in Tesco fro Caerphilly. This one is unpasteurised with a good strong flavour. Probably a bit more mature than at its best, but still a good cheese.

Buttery blue cheese, not too feisty, quite mild in fact.

Smooth sheep’s milk cheese from The French Basque Country. It has an almost smoked flavour, very pleasant.

Forme d Ambert

Lovely subtle blue cheese from Auvergne region of France. Infact it is one of Frances oldest cheeses.. Buttery semi hard style made from cows milk. Best French blue so far.

Dolce de Bourgogne

Super creamy cheese made with double cream cows milk. A bit like Vignotte but richer. Definitely one to have again.

Parmesan parmigiano Reggiano

First Parmesan on the list, this one from The Asda is fine. Not massive on flavour, but sweet and perfect on Lesley’s Lasagne. Coupled with Christian Patat Appassimento a lovely evening.

Lymn Bank Farm hot and garlicy

Does what it says on the tin! Quite hot chilliest in this cheddar cheese, good for cooking with , nice sliced up into risotto.
