Red Hot Dutch
Another great cheese from the Truckle Bros label, this time it is a Gouda with pickled jalapeños and extra dry chilli flakes, making this cheese the hottest I have tried so far.

Tasty, in a mildly blue sort of way. Quite salty, I would suggest white port and grapes with this cheese!
A bit bland really, but did make a nice topping for the pork chops.
Who says you don’t find happiness at the bottom of a glass! This cheese was quite feisty, paired really well with Ardbeg 10 year old. The strong pungent tang of this blue cheese and the deep smoky whisky was a great match.
Nice flexible cheese from France, not got a makers name unfortunately. Quite peppery in a nice way.
Well it was berry coloured! Quite strong taste, just not sure what of, no berry flavour apparent. Not a winner!
I was intrigued by the idea of this cheese, wondering what the charcoal would add. So first off it is a bit tangy, then it is a bit sweaty, and finishes with a grittyness.
This is not going to win Feb cheese of the month, in fact I am not going to eat it again.
It is great to have completed one month of cheese and I have been asked if I have a favourite so far, so I am going to try and pick one each month. January cheese of the month was #thornbymoor Crofton, absolutely lovely sheep’s milk cheese, from Cumbria.
Lunch at the pub today, Eden Sunset is similar to a mild cheddar, it is a bit greasy when at room temp. Not my fav Cumbrian cheese.
Fairly hard smooth cheese with a slightly granular texture. A light grassy tang, leaves a rather nice fresh mouth feel. I like this , quite a lot. Gets a smiley sheep’s face from me.
