Lancashire is my queen of cheeses, smoke it well and it is sublime. I had this at lunchtime, I may now be talking through whisky tinted spectacles.
Another cheese from the Wigmores in Berkshire. Quite smelly cows milk cheese Very soft almost runny very mature cheese, I have got to be honest, I am not a fan.
Guess what I am drinking with this?. Nutty flavoured hard cheese from Dick Willems in Cork. Good cheese that, all gone now.
Lovely warm rich colour, and the flavour follows that with a lovely rich creamy Brie like cheese. Avoided the rind this time. Cheese from The Wigmores in Berkshire madewith Jersey milk.
No mistaking what this is made from, smells just like a flock of sheep on a winters morning. Going to need some whisky. The sheep Ines continues in the taste, and the texture is a little granular. Gone for a smoky fruity Ardbeg 10 year old.
Sharp strong cheese from Northumberland, nutty and rich as it warms up.
Ewes milk cheese from Berkshire. Quite creamy and fresh until you finish chewing the rind, which is quite punchy and possibly best avoided unless you like that sort of thing.
Made by Julie Cheyney in Suffolk. Quite feisty, loads of punchy fruit flavours. Pungent in a good way. Best of all it was a free taster!
Made from Cumbrian goats milk by Carron Lodge, then cave aged for a couple of weeks. Too strong for me, but for the sake of science I will give it another go when I have a wee tipple later! I am thinking it may be getting on a bit.
