Final Day 366

Dewlay Creamy Lancashire

This time last year this challenge was not even an idea! Who new what a year it would be, instead of prepping for a busy New Year’s Eve, I am sitting at home, isolated from the world. It would have been nice to source something really special for my last cheese, in the circumstances it is good to have a cheese which is made not too far away in the next county. It is creamy and mild, not going to win my cheese of the year. We can’t all be winners but that doesn’t stop us working hard, it represents Lancashire as a down to earth cheese from a great county.

Dewlay Garstang White

Last but one day, I enjoyed this cheese, it is a bit Brie like, quite fruity and mild.

Ok but not the best.

Leagrams creamy Lancashire with black pepper

Good amount of pepper to creamy cheese. Looking forward to tonight’s cauliflower cheese.

Dewlay Nicky Nook

Blue veined orange cheese from Lancashire. Quite soft and creamy pleasantly blue wth just a hint of tangyness.

Booths Lancashire with Cranberries

Very good cheese with a good balance of fruit. It is all gone.

Bishop Cropwell Stilton

Christmas Day cheese, final Stilton of the year for me, only managed to get my hands on 4 of the 6 blue ones. The Cropwell is very creamy where last nights was a little grainy. They are both very good, especially now as they have been in front if the fire for 3 hrs! This one is available from Booths. I keep comparing it to the Tebbutt, I bc think tonight’s is a bit salty.

Asda extra special Stilton

Tuxford and Tebbutt blue Stilton, decent blue cheese, well veined with a smooth creamy texture, I will compare and contrast with my final Stilton tomorrow.

Asda Swiss Gruyere

Very fruity cheese, lovely with pasta, or toasted on focaccia.

Appleby Blencathra

A good cheese, in the style of a Caerphilly. It makes a nice sandwich!
